Programming Coordinator

The Programming Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring programs are delivered efficiently and in alignment with organizational goals. This position supports scheduling, communicates with participants, oversees registration processes, and coordinates logistics including transportation, site setup, and trail or facility use.


Program Administration

  • Assist with the planning and coordination of program activities, events, and timelines

  • Support day-to-day program operations including scheduling, logistics, and client communications

  • Manage all incoming program requests made through the RCO website

  • Serve as a point of contact for program participants, partners, and stakeholders

  • Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with program partners

  • Effectively communicate important program details to customers and partners for all RCO programming events

  • Ensure the timely collection of all required participant information prior to events

  • Provide on-site support for program delivery as needed

Customer Support

  • Respond to participant inquiries in a timely and professional manner, via email and/or phone

  • Provide customer support for registration and enrollment across a variety of public-facing programs and activities

  • Be a reliable source of information for the community on RCO’s programs and offerings

Data Tracking and Reporting

  • Track participation numbers, demographics, and program outcomes for reporting and evaluation

  • Maintain program documentation and participant records

  • Compile reports and summaries for internal use, grants, or partners

  • Assist with program evaluation and continuous improvement efforts

Miscellaneous Support

  • Assist with a variety of projects across River City Outdoors and its programs as needed, including special initiatives, community events, and general organizational support.


Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate will be adept at prioritizing, multi-tasking, and have an approachable demeanor with a positive attitude and strong communication skills.

This role is ideal for candidates who are organized, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute t the outdoor recreation scene in St. Louis!

  • Minimum of two (2) years experience working in a similar office-based position

  • Dynamic individual with the ability to work independently, proactively and collaboratively with a team.

  • Strong communication skills, ability to communicate with professionalism, compassion, and patience in writing, on the phone, and in person.

  • Solid customer service skills with a focus on providing friendly and professional support to clients, staff, and community members.

  • Confidence to share ideas and constructive criticism to help us grow.

  • Juggling multiple projects and to-do’s simultaneously is no problem for you — you are able to multi-task and meet deadlines with ease

  • Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail and accuracy

  • Proficient computer skills including the Microsoft Office Suite, One Drive, Google Drive Suite, Excel, Gmail, Windows in a work environment.

  • Enjoying the outdoors and wanting to help others explore and enjoy the natural beauty of our region is a plus!
