Gear Library

The River City Outdoors Gear Library allows St. Louis residents and organizations to borrow over 1,000 pieces of outdoor equipment for free. This initiative supports our mission to remove barriers and increase equitable access to outdoor recreation in the communities we serve.

How to Borrow our gear

1. Be a St. Louis City or County resident or community organization.

2. Complete the required Gear Library training to become a registered user.

3. Search your inventory and add available gear to your cart.

4. Make your reservation and choose a pick-up time.


5. Pick up your gear at our location at the scheduled time.


6. Enjoy your trip!

7. Return the gear (clean and dry) at the scheduled drop-off time.


8.  Complete our follow-up survey.

We accept reservations through our lending platform, myTurn. If you have questions about using myTurn, see our how-to guide.

GEar Library Waiver
and Borrowing agreement

If gear is lost, damaged, or stolen the registered borrower will be responsible for a repair and/or replacement fee. Replacement fees are listed on the Gear Library inventory pages. Gear will be assessed within two weeks of the drop-off appointment. Please familiarize yourself with our Waiver, Release, and Borrowed Gear Agreement.
