In celebration of National Bike Month, Big Muddy Adventures (BMA) is inviting locals and visitors alike to explore downtown St. Louis on two wheels — for free. Throughout the month of May, the organization will offer complimentary bike rentals during normal operating hours at its location at the iconic Gateway Arch.
This limited-time initiative is designed to encourage more people to experience the fun, accessibility, and adventure of cycling while taking advantage of one of the city’s most scenic and historic areas. Riders can cruise along the Mississippi Riverfront, connect to nearby bike paths, or simply enjoy a leisurely ride through downtown.
“National Bike Month is about getting more people comfortable and excited about biking,” says Natalie Rolwes, BMA’s director of communications. “By removing the cost barrier, we hope to introduce new riders to the experience and remind current cyclists just how easy and enjoyable it can be to explore St. Louis by bike.”
Located at 50 Leonor K. Sullivan Boulevard, Big Muddy Adventures at the Arch offers convenient access to a variety of cycling routes, including connections to the Mississippi Greenway and other regional parks and trails. The free rentals are available on a first-come, first-served basis from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.
National Bike Month, celebrated each May and promoted by the League of American Bicyclists, highlights the many benefits of bicycling — from improved health and reduced environmental impact to stronger, more connected communities.
