The River City Outdoors 2024 Annual Report is Here!

Together we're building a legacy of health, connection, and outdoor stewardship for future generations in St. Louis.

Our annual report reflects our vision to build an outdoor ecosystem for all.

In 2024, after working for several years to lay the groundwork, River City Outdoors hit our stride — and what a trip it’s been. 

We completed a three-year strategic plan with a leading social impact consultancy in St. Louis. We renewed our commitment with the Outdoor Industry Association to serve as the backbone organization of the local Thrive Outside community. We awarded our first-ever outdoor recreation grants to three community-focused projects that benefit our region.

And, among other accomplishments, we published our first annual report — a milestone that highlights a full year of program innovation, community partnerships, and transformative impact across the region.

Here are just a few of the highlights:

• $129,000+ invested in the St. Louis outdoor community

• 3,000+ area youth engaged through outdoor programs

• Nearly 22,500 gear rentals (boats & bikes) at Forest Park and Simpson Lake

• Expanded access to our free Gear Lending Library for St. Louis residents and organizations

Why This Report Matters

Our inaugural Annual Report does more than showcase numbers — it reflects River City Outdoors’ vision to build a durable outdoor culture in St. Louis where access isn’t a privilege and nature becomes a space for healing, recreation, and community for all. It’s a transparent celebration of what’s been achieved and a bold invitation to what’s next. It’s also an open invitation for supporters, partners, and participants to get involved and help us build a more accessible, connected, and diverse outdoor future in St. Louis.
